Our History
Roke Technologies Ltd. was founded in 1967 by a group of oilfield design engineers. Originally focused in the mining sector, Roke engineers found unacceptable levels of measurement error while using conventional logging tools. In 1972, Roke began a 10 year long R&D process to develop a more accurate porosity measurement device. In 1982 the prototype Quad Technology was launched with a focus on the oil and gas industry.
The Quad Technology is the most accurate insitu porosity measurement device, more accurate than Open Hole Density, Neutron and Sonic porosity calculations. In unconventional formations, no other logging tools are as close to porosity from core data than the Quad Technology. Direct water saturation measurements are also achievable for oil bearing reservoirs.
Today the Quad Technology is commercially utilized in CBM, Shale Gas, Oil Shale, Tight Gas, Conventional Oil and Conventional Gas plays in North America. The Quad Technology was designed for the cased hole in-situ environment to evaluate formations at the point of production, identify bypassed pay, assist in work over procedure planning, maximize frac efficiency using the IntelliComplete⢠system.
